Shopping! What better way to
celebrate a blazing hot day other than a little retail therapy? With my huge
frames, big curly hair, and a bottle of chilled water; I’m ready to go!
Of course, the mall would be the
first option for most, but I prefer boutiques. These cozy, small, yet intimate stores
of handpicked clothing are ideal for shopping for anonymous designers as well
as rare pieces.
My first stop was Sugaree’s,
located downtown of Murfreesboro, TN. This place was amazing! The atmosphere
was very retro with a relaxed vibe. Sugaree’s had quite a few items to choose
from such as, floral, lace, and pastel pieces. There was also a vintage
selection for the thrifty.
The first three pieces to catch
my eye where: a fitted cream belted dress, a white sheer knitted piece, and a floral
red and forest green skirt. All three inexpensive pieces fit perfectly!
I also enjoyed Sugaree’s jewelry
collection. Having the privilege of meeting one designer, Evane Diance Stoner,
I was drawn to her creative hand-made earrings from her personal line, The Little Imaginary Girl. Stoner’s jewelry collection featured clay like flower earrings sculpted to
perfection. There was an array of colors to choose from along with other
matching pieces.
If you ever come to visit this
small town, stop by Sugaree’s. You will find more than what’s expected and
everything you need!
